Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you use this website or your Digital Logbook customer portal account.
Last updated: 20 October 2026
1. Who this applies to
These Terms of Use are between you and Viaduct Fire Ltd, an electrical contractor based in Stockport, UK, registered in England and Wales under company number 17314184, with its registered office at 16 Marbury Road, Heaton Chapel, Stockport, SK4 5NU ("we", "us", "our"), and apply to your use of this website and, if you're a customer, your Digital Logbook portal account. They're separate from — and don't replace — the specific terms and conditions attached to any quote or invoice we issue you for a particular job; where the two overlap, the terms on your quote or invoice govern that job, and these Terms of Use govern your use of the portal itself.
2. Accepting these terms
If you're a customer, you're asked to confirm you've read and agree to these terms the first time you set a password for your portal account. Continuing to use the portal after that point means you accept these terms as they stand at the time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above; if you don't agree with a change, please stop using the portal and contact us.
3. The portal service
The Digital Logbook portal lets you view and download quotes, invoices, compliance certificates and other documents we've issued for your site, and lets us communicate with you about your account. Where a compliance certificate is linked to an invoice, it only becomes visible in your account once that invoice has been paid in full — this is a deliberate part of how the portal works, not a fault.
We provide the portal as a convenience alongside the services we deliver on-site. We aim to keep it available and accurate, but — like any online system — it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances outside our control, and we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The portal isn't a substitute for the physical certificate/paperwork we may also provide, and in the event of any discrepancy the certificate itself (and our own records) takes precedence.
4. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for anything that happens under your account. Please tell us straight away at info@viaductfire.co.uk if you think someone else has access to your account, or if any of your details on file (email, phone, site address) need updating. Please only use the portal for its intended purpose — managing your own account and documents — and not to attempt to access anyone else's records or interfere with how the system runs.
5. Certificates and the scope of our work
Every compliance certificate we issue states, on its face, exactly what system and areas it covers and the date it was carried out — please read that scope carefully, as it's the certificate that's authoritative, not a general assumption about what was checked. Certificates certify the condition of the system at the time of the visit, within the areas we were given access to; they don't extend to parts of a system we couldn't access, and they aren't a guarantee against faults that develop, or become apparent, after that date.
6. Payment and the underlying contract
The portal is where invoices are issued and can be viewed, but it isn't itself the contract for the work — the terms and conditions on the relevant quote or invoice (covering price, payment terms and the work itself) are what govern that job. If those terms and these Terms of Use ever conflict on a point about the job itself, the quote/invoice terms take priority.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited — for example, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the portal itself (as distinct from the underlying work we carry out, which remains governed by the relevant job's own terms and our professional obligations).
8. Suspending or closing an account
We may suspend or close your portal account if we reasonably believe it's being misused, if your relationship with us as a customer ends, or if we're required to for legal or security reasons. If your relationship with us as a customer ends, your records are kept in an archive for 6 months and then permanently deleted by us, as set out in our Privacy Policy; download copies of anything you want to keep before then. Closing your portal account doesn't affect any physical documents or statutory rights you already have in connection with work we've carried out for you.
9. Data protection
How we collect and use personal data through this website and the portal is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
